Light and shadow.
Light and shadow is the key to a good picture, Light and shadow makes a picture have the emphasis that that picture will need to make the vewier interged to look. The lighter parts on the picture is what attracts are eyes the most, Light and shadow can show the texture of something the way the light and shadow catches the groves and bumps. If you dont use you lighting properley it can make you picture very grainy and white depending if you use to much light!

My company is called Fly Design. Fly meaning good looking and fast! My company is a new fresh look at graphic design. The reason I picked a dragonfly is because they are a source of great beauty and inspiration for people they also are very gentle bugs and there very fast. That is a great model for my company all of our work is very beautiful and inspirational, we are also very fast we get right to work! In my logo I have picked to make the font bigger then the animal because the font had allot more line details and the font took away from the dragonfly, so I made the dragonfly smaller and it gave my logo more pop. The colour in my of the dragonfly is pink and purple very strong colours and the font is black just so the dragonfly is the popping piece on the page.
In my logo there is allot of feeling. The feeling of my logo is very happy! The colour's really give it a happy feel because of the bright shades of pink and purple but the black gives it a very organized feel, black to me is a very plan shade. The lines in the font give it a very sketchy look and that makes it look fun and new! I think my logo has a very happy and organized look and that will attracted people to my company “Fly Design”. In all of my logos I think that the best one is my black font one with the pink and purple dragonfly. It might be plan and simple but I think that logo will bring more people to my company and give me more business. It also can convert to small and then very large, it also looks good in black and white. There is allot of harmony between my text and my dragonfly they blend very well so the over all look is very easy to look at. Out of all my logos my favorite one is the black and white text with the purple dragonfly, that logo works the best.
By having the black text it draws more attention to the dragonfly but still gets allot of attention so the words don't get lost. I do think that my logo meets all of the criteria because of the placement and all of the text and the dragonfly it also has all of the right blending colour's.

My Chess Peice.
In my chess peice picture we had to create a picture of our chess peice we were given and give the background movement. My picture had alot of movment because of the lines going side to side and all of my shadding in every gap. As for the chess peice I made it so the shadding of the chess peice is oppasite of the background so it would give the picture more movement.

This painting "The Portal" was painted by Karl Schmidt- Rottluf and I will be talking about the imitation , emotionalism and formalism in this painting.
Firstly I will be talking about imitationism. Some people think that art should be realistic in this painting Karl Schmidt-Rottluf made his painting pretty realistic but it could be argued. In my opinion I think that this painting is very realistic, this is a picture of tree and a path leading to a house. The brush strokes in the tree and house are very gentle and soft but at the same time they are sharp and rough the trees are very pointy and sharp but other strokes are very gentle and soft the house is also very soft not so much rough. As for the path and ground is very lose and distorted. With all the different brush strokes the painting blends very well. It might not be very detailed but it is realistic because you can tell what this painting is a picture of a house and trees.
Next I'm going to speak about the emotionalism in the painting. In this picture the colours and brush strokes are allot of different mix emotions. The vibrant yellows and oranges give off a very joyful feel, unlike the dark blues greens and blacks give off a very mad or frustrated look. The brush strokes are very tight and scribaly but then the slowly start going lose and gentle that shows me that the Karl Schmidt-Rottluf might have been very frustrated and mad but as he painted he got all of his angure out and the strokes started going very lose instead of tight. I think that this painting tells a story, Karl Schmidt-Rottluf was trying to say that you might have a hard day but you can always look forward to going home to people you love.
The last thing that I would like to talk about is the formalism. In this painting I feel that this painting is very organized it is very easy to see what the images is. This picture is very destined and the lines are very in place and the textures in the trees are very real looking. Also in this picture has allot of balance, harmony, emphasis and moment and it also has rythem! All of these things make this picture what it is and gives it the realness!.
In this painting I think that Karl Schmidt-Rottluf did a great job of making realistic painting.
